Brief Profile
Dr. Alok Raj is an Associate Professor in the Production, Operations, and Decision Sciences area at XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur. He earned his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (2019) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from BIT Sindri.
Before entering academia, Dr. Raj gained over a decade of industry experience with Ispat Industries (now part of JSW) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. His research focuses on sustainable supply chains, digital transformation, and healthcare operations, employing methodologies such as discrete choice experiments, game theory, meta-analysis, system dynamics, and structural equation modeling.
He has published papers in leading international journals, including the Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Transportation Research Part E, Energy Economics, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.
Dr. Raj received the Research Publication Excellence Award at XLRI’s 2024 and 2025 convocations and served as Conference Chairman for the POMS India Chapter Conference 2023. At XLRI, he teaches Operations Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Prescriptive Analytics.
