Brief Profile
Prof Dr Fr S George, S.J., is a distinguished figure in the realm of management education, renowned for his profound commitment to personal leadership, responsibility, authenticity, and truth. With over 14 years of expertise in Organizational Behaviour (OB), his influence spans across various domains including Individual Behaviour in Organizations, Transformational Leadership, and Managerial Counselling.
Currently serving as the Director of XLRI - Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur, and Vice Chairman of XLRI's Board of Governors, Fr. George holds pivotal roles that underscore his leadership and strategic acumen. He has served as the Founding Director at XLRI - Delhi NCR, Director at XIME - Chennai Campus, Administrator and Dean of Administration at XLRI Jamshedpur, and Faculty in OB & HR at XLRI and XIMB. Additionally, he has contributed as a Visiting Faculty at Loyola University, Maryland, and served as Dean of Finance at XIMB. His contributions span strategic leadership, educational administration, curriculum development, and mentoring emerging leaders in the field.
He is a revered Founder member of the EFMD Indian Business Council and contributes significantly as a Peer Review Team member for AACSB at prestigious institutions like National Taiwan Normal University and National Central University, Taiwan. His ongoing commitment is further evidenced by his roles as a Board Member of XIME and a Lifetime Member of NHRD.
Academically, Fr. George's credentials are impressive, with a Ph.D. from Madras University focusing on "Transformational Leadership & its relationship with organizational citizenship behaviour & organizational justice." His educational journey also includes an MS from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur, among other notable qualifications in theology, philosophy, and management.
Fr. George is not only a dedicated educator but also a prolific researcher. His interests in Leadership & Personnel Effectiveness and Managerial Counselling have led to significant publications in esteemed journals, contributing to the academic discourse on management practices.
Beyond academia, Fr. George is actively involved in fostering managerial excellence through numerous Management Development Programmes (MDPs) conducted for corporate and development sector organizations. He is the Owner & Program Director of Basic Leadership Skill – a flagship Management Development Programme at XLRI Jamshedpur.
Fr. S George, S.J. brings a wealth of expertise in organizational building, human resource management, and leadership development, significantly shaping effective management practices on a global scale. He has conducted more than 50 workshops on leadership and serves as a mentor and counsellor to emerging leaders.
